Wholesome Eats at B.GOOD

On Monday evening I made my way over to the B.GOOD summer patio party in the St. Lawrence Market area (one of my favorite areas of Toronto, as you'll know if you watch my Insta stories). I've always thought of B.GOOD as a place to get wholesome, bountiful salads, and a Sanpellegrino soda, my favorite soft drink. But I learned this week that they have so much more to offer, both on their menu and to their community.

I was amazed to see the meaty sandwiches, eggplant "meatballs", and grain-packed salad bowls they had ready for us. Their patio is lively, and is perfectly located for people watching and taking in the buzzing atmosphere of the neighborhood.

The menu at B.GOOD changes seasonally, using only natural and fresh ingredients from local producers. It's not only tasty to switch it up, but it's good for you to eat a variety of foods that change with the seasons so that you can access different nutrients and vitamins. I like that eating seasonally keeps it interesting, and gets you in the spirit of the season.

I like that their salads aren't just veggies, but have seeds, dried fruit, and grains in them too. It makes for a much heartier and tastier meal when you have a variety of flavors and textures in your bowl. Like nice big cubes of watermelon... yes please! Each salad bowl is finished with a tasty dressing to suit the flavors of the meal.

The ingredients they use are free from hormones, nitrates, preservatives, artificial flavors and colours. They even use eggs from free range hens, and trust me you can both see and taste the difference! There's nothing quite like the bright, deep yellow yolk of a free range egg.

Their focus on sustainability extends beyond the quality of their ingredients. The packaging for your order is recyclable (no cheap Styrofoam here!), and all the ingredients, including breads, are sourced from local producers. One of my favorite things about B.GOOD is that their foods do not follow any fad diets. They produce healthy food made from quality ingredients, based on how people have been eating for ages.
