A nut-free, top allergen free party mix to satisfy your sweet and salty snack cravings!
Tis the season for getting cozy with a blanket, a movie, and a scented candle lit for ambiance. I created this recipe with that peaceful moment in mind. What could pair with a Hallmark movie better than a big bowl of party mix? Whether you’re getting together with friends, snacking alone, or enjoying with your family, this mix aims to please. It’s crunchy, salty, sweet, decadent, and light, all in one bowl. Chunks of FreeYumm’s new Crunchy Chocolate Bites are the highlight, with crumbled up pieces of their much-loved cookies dotted throughout. Melted chocolate, of course, holds it all together.
I used the stove to pop the popcorn and melt the chocolate, but you can easily do both of these tasks in the microwave if you have one. A movie snack should be quick and easy to assemble so that you can have maximum enjoyment time.
If you are not familiar with FreeYumm, it’s a mom-owned company based in British Columbia, Canada! You can find their goodies in stores throughout the US and Canada. Their products are made in a dedicated top 9 allergen free bakery. They offer 2 varieties of their new Crunchy Chocolate Bites, Himalayan Salt and Raspberry, as well as 7 flavors of their cookies and bars which come individually wrapped for inclusive snacking on the go. All of their products are non-GMO verified and kosher certified too! FreeYumm has been one of my beloved trusted brands for the last couple years, and I am so pleased to share that love with you.
Peanut free, nut free, dairy free, soy free, egg free, wheat and gluten free, fish and shellfish free, sesame free, sulphite free
Ingredients
6 cups popped plain popcorn kernels
1 bag of FreeYumm Crunchy Chocolate Bites
4 FreeYumm cookies, crumbled
2/3 cup melted allergen-free chocolate
flaky sea salt to taste
Begin by lining a sheet pan with parchment paper so that the party mix doesn’t stick to the pan.
Pop the popcorn however you prefer - I do it stovetop with about 1 tbsp of olive oil, but some people prefer to use the microwave. Do whatever you are most comfortable with. Spread the popped popcorn out on the parchment lined pan, and set aside.
Roughly chop up a whole bag of FreeYumm Crunchy Chocolate Bites. You can use either flavor for this; I used Himalayan Salt. Sprinkle the chopped up pieces and the crumbled cookies (you can use whichever flavor you prefer) over the popcorn.
Melt the chocolate either on the stovetop or in the microwave. Drizzle it all over the party mix, then refrigerate for 20 minutes. Crumble up the mix to break up the chocolate and transfer to a bowl.
